Carol Probst
Carol Elizabeth Probst, 77, a resident of Annapolis for 43 years and previously of Hollidaysburg, PA, died October 26 of cancer at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a three-and-a-half-year illness.
She was born June 29, 1934 in Hollidaysburg, PA, to the late Eugene and Mary Ester Warner, and graduated from Hollidaysburg High School. She was employed with the Navy Exchange as credit manager for 20 years and with Woodward & Lothrop as credit manager for another 20 years.
She was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Fleet Reserve Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a Eucharistic Minister. Her hobbies included floral design, gardening, travel and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Probst, whom she married in 1956 and who died in 1996; and sister, Jeanne Heverly.
She is survived by her son, Thomas D. Probst of Annapolis; three daughters, Missy Muhly of Millersville, and Milly Probst and Mindy Probst, both of Annapolis; three brothers, John Warner of Yorktown, VA, Joseph Warner of Ohio and Garry Warner of Hollidaysburg, PA; two sisters, Barbra Jackson of Pittsburgh, PA and Janet Myers of Greensboro, NC; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 30 at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. The funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 31 at St. John Neumann Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis. Interment to follow service at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sally Murphy Educational Assistance Program or Redemptorist Priests of St. Mary's Church.
