Maynard – Carol J. (Mara) Bean, 69, died Friday, January 29 at Emerson Hospital, Concord. She was born in Waltham, daughter of the late George and Emma (Smith) Mara. A resident of Maynard since 1965, she was the wife of Willis F. Bean for 48 years. Mrs. Bean had retired from Raytheon where she had been an electronic assembler. She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Sudbury. In addition to her husband she leaves two sons: Brian Bean and his wife Melissa of Maynard and Darren Bean of Ferndale, WA; two grandchildren Kirsten and Daniel; three brothers: John Mara of Waltham, Richard Mara of Shrewsbury and Frank Chandnoit of Ayer; three sisters: Patricia Cusano of Waltham, Ann Lussier of Hudson and Judy Farrell of Walpole and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings: Fred Maro, George Mara, Phillip Mara and Connie Barron. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at 10:00AM in St. John Lutheran Church, 16 Great Road, Sudbury, MA. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, from 5 – 8 PM at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. For directions and online guest book go to fowler-kennedy.com.
