Carol Williams Wilson, 90, died on Monday (January 7, 2013) at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.

She was born on June 26, 1922 in Roda, VA to John Dulaney Williams and Bessie (Tate) Williams. On March 26, 1940 in Whitesburg, KY, she married Paul Jefferson Wilson. She and Paul were life-time members of Lonesome Pine Country Club in Big Stone Gap, which they managed. Carol was a member /organist for the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #157, Big Stone Gap; the Lonesome Pine Hospital Auxiliary for 42 years, where she was Auxiliarian of the Year in 1985, taught Sunday school and played piano at the Legion Memorial United Methodist Church in Big Stone Gap, where she was a life-time member, an avid bridge player and golfer, loved to travel and loved to talk about her family who adored her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in 1999; her parents; and her brother, John Dulaney Williams, Jr.

Surviving are her son, John Franklin Wilson and wife, Mary K; grandsons, Paul Burton Wilson, John Mark Wilson and wife, Angela, Patrick Joseph Wilson and wife, Dagmara, and Jacqueline Wilson; great grandchildren, Lindsay, Landis, Logan, John Paul, Kalin and Kassian Wilson; sister-in-law, Nancy Opal Mullins; nephews, John D. Williams, Fred Powers, Dennis Powers; nieces, Phyllis Metcalf, Peggy Powers Nakdemon, Evelyn Powers Kirk, Cindy Wilson Blair and Martha Wilson Burleson.

Special thanks for the loving care given by all, specially, Karen Stallard, FNP, devoted caregivers, Gladys "Lucy" McFall and Luella Sizemore, I.C.U. nurses and doctors at Holston Valley Medical Center, U.S. Postal Service letter carrier, Jacob Kilgore, her loving canine companion, "Jake," and to the many caring friends in Big Stone Gap who supported Carol.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap.

An Order of the Eastern Star service, by the O.E.S. Chapter #157, Big Stone Gap, will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow with the Reverend Ronnie Mutter officiating.

Burial will be private.

The family requests memorial contributions be made for Parkinson's Research to U.S.F. Foundation, Inc., 4001 E. Fletcher Ave., 6th Floor, Tampa, FL 33613 or to the Legion Memorial U.M.C., P. O. Box 628, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219.
