SCHENECTADY—Carole B. Fox of Baker Avenue, Schenectady died on Wednesday, August 1st at Ellis Hospital.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Carole made Schenectady her home since 1972. She majored in advertising design at Rhode Island School of Design and earned her B.A. and M.A. degrees from SUNY-Empire State College where she served on the ESC Board of Governors.

Carole worked in the health care field before returning to school then beginning a career of counseling and life coaching. Most of her work was with women and men who were abused and their children, which inspired her to form a partnership with Project Equality. She developed the Powerful Choices program for children and the Pet Guardians program. Carole coordinated the Schenectady County Domestic Violence Task Force, served on the Board of Directors of the NYS Coalition Against Domestic Violence and was a charter member of the Schenectady Stand Up Guys. She was active on the Albany SNUG/Community Coalition Against Violence and wrote and published "The Little Helper." Caroled presented trainings throughout the Capital District on issues related to domestic abuse.

Carole was active in the Schenectady branch of AAUW, ushered at Proctor's, helped at the Eight Step at Proctor's, volunteered at the Red Cross and led a Girl Scout troop. She enjoyed drawing and painting, riding her motorcycle, walking her dog, writing and being with family and friends.

Carole is survived by her loving children, Mike and Diane Murphy, Tom and Atsuko Murphy and Pat and Jim Holmes; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Dr. Alfred Fox; sister, Judy Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to give a special thanks to her aides Sharron Bassoo, Sonia Carden and Dominique Green.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 4 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, Inc., Union at McClellan Street. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 PM.
