After a short illness, God gather our sweet, kind and caring Carole in his arms and carried her to heaven on Friday, December 30, 2011. After attending Orlando Jones High and Mid-Florida Tech, Carole began her career as receptionist and front office manager at Stevens and Walton Architects and R.C. Stevens Construction. At Stevens she took deserved credit for recommending the hiring of a man who later became her husband on December 20, 1975. David, who she is survived by, was her soul mate and best friend for 36 years. She later trained as a registered medical assistant, working 15 years for Dr. John R. Hood before retiring to manage her home. Carole's huge loving heart, compassion and unselfishness toward all living things, especially her passion for cats, was quickly evident to all who met her. She was the consummate cook, enjoying nothing more in life then preparing her favorite recipes for gatherings of family and friends. Her sparking crystal blue eyes radiated the enjoyment she found entertaining and partying, and in her love for traveling with Dave. Moving to Cocoa Beach in 2005, they found their dream home, an ocean front condo penthouse. She became knows as the "condo queen", enjoying the beach life while managing the business affairs of their two other rent condos. Heaven is now brighter having Carole's spirit. Surviving Carole is her loving husband David J. Smith; parents Everett and Geneva New; sisters Marla and Philip Meier; Terri Joyce; Janet Wilson; sister-in-law Patti and her husband Ron Jefferson; nephews Todd Tilford; Chris Spears; Justin Joyce; Benjamin Joyce; Rob Jefferson; Kevin Jefferson; her beloved cat Charlie; and numerous extended friends and family. Please join us as we Celebrate Carole's life on Saturday, January 14TH. The family will greet guests at 11:00 am, with the Celebration at 11:30 am, at the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 101 N.
