Carolina F. Powell, 70, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, to the late Aurora and Virgil Fernandez, Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband, John D. Powell; four daughters, Juliet Blanchette-Goyette and husband Richard of New Hampshire, Jeanet Ewing and husband David of Manassas Park, VA, Joyce Powell of Tennessee, and Jan Casper and husband Paul of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Lilly Vianes of Texas; and three brothers, Alfonso, Virgil Jr., and Fernando Fernandez, all of Texas. She was predeceased by her brother, Nicolas Fernandez. All services are private. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
