Carolyn B. Garrett, 72, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, January 04, 2011 at Holly Hill Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born on January 10, 1938 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Ballard and Mable O'Conner Branham. She was retired from the Department of Family and Children's Services (DFACS) and she was of the Christian Faith. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Sipe of Acworth, Georgia; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Laura Garrett of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Stuart Dinkins of Naylor; a daughter, Leesa Hay of Acworth, Georgia; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Laura and Charles Sellers of Louisville, Kentucky and Margie Simmons of Huntington, West Virginia; former husband and father of her children, William Garrett of Morven; several nieces and nephews. Services for Carolyn B. Garrett will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Bro. Benny Daniels officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com. Carson McLane.
