Carolyn Bertha (Mueller) Marlow, 94, died unexpectedly at her home in Waynesboro, on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Born March 29, 1917 in Shawano, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Martha (Luebker) Mueller. After graduating from high school, she attended secretarial school in Milwaukee and then moved to Washington, D.C. in 1939 to work for the U.S. Maritime Commission. She married her first husband, John W. Urban, a musician in the Navy Band, in 1945. They had three children before his death in 1957. Mrs. Marlow returned to work for the U.S. Agriculture Dept. from which she retired in 1981. She married her beloved husband and friend, Fielder Marlow in 1965. She was active in many church educational and volunteer service organizations throughout her life. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her faith was her guiding light through difficult times, including the death of her beloved daughter, Carolyn Holmer in 1982. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Marlow is survived by two children: Jacquelyn D. Urban, Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and John Wesley Urban III, Monrovia, Maryland; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a brother: Walter Mueller, Bonduel, Wisconsin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Sunday, February 19, 2012 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church: 43 South Church St. Waynesboro, PA, with the Rev. Dennis Beaver officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Lutheran World Relief, 700 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21230.
