To the Grout family I extent mty condolences. I do not remember Mrs. Grout from my tour in Sandia Base, but I knew her husband Jerry. My wife and I could have met her at socials through our unit, the 1090 Special Reporting Wing. At that time we had socials called call Dining Out. Chief Grout worked in personel across the street from the headquarters where I worked. I Frequently made it a point to visit Jerry at his office

My wife and I could have met her at socials through our unit, the 1090 Special Reporting Wing. At that time we had socials called call Dining Out. Chief Grout worked in personel across the street from the headquarters where I worked. I Frequently made it a point to visit Jerry at his office just to talk. TSgt Pena (deceased) worked for him, both very dedicated air force troops. I knew Jerry as a senior master sergeant and I was please to learn that he achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. I too achieved the rank of CMSgt, and I attribute my success to people and families like the Grout's.

My thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathy are with your family on the passing of your mother.

I am deeply sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. One thing I will always remember is coming over after school and chatting with your Mother. She always had something nice to say and always had the warmest smile. I can still hear her saying to me in closing to remember to tell my Mother that "Carolyn said hello". I send this also for my Mother, Audrey, who at this time has survived recent cancer surgery and suffers from advanced macular degeneration.

Jim, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. I realize this is a bit strange, hearing from me, Mariann Groman; but, I was looking up the tha name of another person I know who had recently passed and saw your Mom's name. I guess at our age, we'll be dealing with this more frequently as our loved ones are getting up in their years. I lost my Dad in 2002. It's so not an easy thing to deal with. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
