CAROLYN LEE HARPER JOHNSON ~ FRIEND TO ALL Mrs. Johnson, age 65, died on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital-Pontiac, Michigan. She was born October 7, 1946, in Highland Park, Michigan. She had been a longtime resident of Troy since 1973. Mrs. Johnson was an Independent Social Worker. She earned her Masters of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. Mrs. Johnson was a generous woman with a great sense of humor. She was a good wife and mother and a friend to many. She loved the time spent with her grandchildren, and loved them more than anything. She enjoyed painting, genealogy, and her dogs. In her healthier and younger years, she loved to travel, bowl, golf, play racquetball and drive her corvette. She accumulated many bowling trophies. She had a great love of music and loved the oldies. She passed on that knowledge and love of music to her son and grandchildren. She traveled all over the United States, but her greatest travels were always to Georgia and Pennsylvania, where she loved to visit her many family members. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth D Johnson for 42 years. Dear mother of James K. Johnson and her daughter-in-law Armida. Cherished grandma of Joey and Sabrina, whom she loved dearly. Daughter of the late James T. and Helen R. Harper. Sister of the late beloved James T. Harper. Also survived by her dear brother William Bruce Harper and her estranged sister Jean Harper Canada. Aunt of Lori Harper Davis (Jeff). She also leaves behind her cherished dog 'C.J.' There is no visitation or Funeral Service at her request. Interment: White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan – Private Service – Immediate family only. Memorial Tributes may be made to: Her grandchildren's college fund.
