Catherine M. Momany, 76, of Benton Harbor, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Burial will follow at Shanghai Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God. Those wishing to sign Catherine's Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Catherine was born October 18, 1935 in Chicago to William & Mildred (Sisson) Oakes. The family moved to Benton Harbor and Catherine graduated from Benton Harbor High School. On April 3, 1953, she married Roy Lee Momany in Benton Harbor. Catherine was involved in banking the majority of her career, retiring from Comerica Bank in Muskegon after 16 years as bookkeeper and installment loan officer. Catherine was a member of the First Church of God and the Prime Timers Ministry. Her life revolved around her church & serving her Lord Jesus. She spent much of her time in prayer and reading the bible, and offering to help others in any way that she could. Catherine enjoyed attending annual Church of God Camp Meetings in Grand Junction, Michigan & Anderson, Indiana.

Catherine is survived by her children-Janine (Gary) Borreson of Maple City, MI, Stephen (Nancy) Momany of Elkhart, IN; three grandchildren-Rachael (Greg) Piller, Gabriel (Daisy) Borreson, & Levi (Erin) Borreson; and three great-grandchildren-Devin, Zosia, & Elka. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Herbert Schmidke, her daughter Connie Lee Momany on August 5, 1981and her husband Roy on September 6, 2003.
