Born February 5, 1954, raised in Wilmington, CA, attended Sts. Peter & Paul School in Wilmington, & St. Anthony's High School in Long Beach. Shortly after completing her senior year, she started working & moved to Long Beach & was there until her untimely passing on December 25, 2011. Predeceased by her parents: Filimon & Celina Garcia, she is survived by her long time companion: Alan Brakefield, & his son Jeff, & daughter-in-law Sheila, his grandson JJ & her 6 sisters, 6 brothers, 24 nieces & nephews. She got into the Longshore Industry in1985 & never transferred out of Local 13. For a period of time she was a Lashing Instructor, Instrumental in helping qualify prospective members of the ILWU. She was outgoing, kind, & generous, she touched a lot of people & will be missed.
