Catherine T. Caswell, "Cassie" or "Me-Mom" (nee Kelly), 78, formerly of Westville on August 12, 2009.

Legacy

Cassie Caswell was the ultimate hostess. She loved to host dinner parties and open houses. They might be at her home in Westville or in North Wildwood. Her spaghetti sauce on the 4th of July was famous – complete with secret ingredient (it's the beef bouillon cube). In quieter times, she enjoyed reading and knitting. On Sundays, Frank Sinatra would be playing in the background. Cassie was born in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia. She was the oldest of nine children of Edward and Katherine Kelly. When Cassie raised her children, she was an integral part of their activities. She was a fixture in the Westville Little League, Babe Ruth League, Cub Scout Pack 40 and the Gateway High PTA. Cassie was an Irish woman who enjoyed her beer. Her final beer was this year on her 78th birthday. Her love and spirit will be dearly missed but with us each and every day.

Family

Cassie and her late husband, Donald Caswell were married for 40 years. She is survived by her children, Mary Kate (Steve) Vernacchio; Donald (Linda) Caswell; Timothy (Carla) Caswell; Claire (Ken) Smith and Michael (Katherine) Caswell. Grandmother of Eric (Lauren), Stephanie, Matthew, Deena, Lauren; Lindsay, Seth, Julie and McKenna. Great-grandmother of Meghann Chestnut. Sister of Rosemary Kelly, Claire (Don) Taylor, Edward Kelly, Jack Kelly, Suzanne (Tom) Schultz, Michael (Bobbi) Kelly and the late William Kelly and Marie D'Amico; sister-in-law of Dolores Kelly.

Farewell Service

Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday in St. Margaret's RC Church 3rd & Beech Woodbury Hts., NJ. A viewing will begin at 9:30 AM in the church. At the conclusion of Mass, committal rites will be held at Harleigh Chapel, Camden. Private interment will take place in Eglington Cemetery. Memories may be shared by clicking on the "Share A Memory" icon Donations may be made to St. John of God Community 1145 Delsea Drive Westville Grove, NJ 08093.
