Celia Katherine Kelly
11/4/1986 – 3/15/2009
Our beloved daughter Celia, age 22, was born in Spokane, WA. Celia attended Whitworth ES, Meany MS, Garfield High School, and The University of Washington, and The University of Southampton, in England. Celia began her love of the ocean in her marine science class at GHS, and while donating hundreds of hours as a teen naturalist at the Seattle Aquarium.
Celia was a senior at the UW studying Oceanography and she had just finished her senior cruise in waters near New Zealand. She was enjoying a few days vacation there before returning to her home and family in Seattle, when she was tragically killed in an automobile accident.
Celia was preceeded in death by her loving grandpa, Donald Bailey. She is survived by her parents Joan Kelly and Joshua Kelly, and sister Melissa Kelly. Also surviving Celia are her grandmother, Katherine Bailey, grandparents Robert and Teresa Kelly, Aunts Gail Bailey, Kim Brown, and Annelies Smith, Uncles Robert Brown, Howard Brown, Christopher Kelly and Doug Smith. Cousins Krystal Brown, Jalyce and Jovan Satterwhite, Sheena , Jacqueline, Robert III, and Omari Brown, Chelsea , Rose, Erin, and Emma Smith. She had many more relatives and friends here in Seattle and all over the world who love her and miss her dearly.
A celebration of Celia's life will be at The Seattle Aquarium Thursday, March 26th, 2009 at 6:30pm. A memorial fund has been established in Celia's name at Washington mutual bank. Contributions can be made at any WaMu location.
