Celon L. Kirk entered into life January 13, 1921 in Garland City, Arkansas to Rev. Jasper & Eliza Gardner. She went back to the Lord on October 5, 2010.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory; her children, Donna Lavern Kirk, Howard C. Kirk and Jay Deloria Lynn Ritts, grandchildren, Celon Donne Dennis, James Henry Dennis III, Jerry Howard Jordan, Jamila G.B. Jordan, Christopher Eugene Tatum, Derrick Kirk, James Kirk, Belinda Kirk, Camile Kirk, Carrisa Kirk, Andernisia Ross, Ilissa Ross-Lauver, great grandchildren, Dimetriace Jordan, Diamonique Jordan, Jerry Jordan, Erin Raulerson, Jeremiah Jordan, Angelair McDonald, William Lauver, Jailisa Dennis, Jessica Dennis, Odie, Lil' Chris and many more. Celon was preceded in death by, her parents, her husband Howard Kirk Sr., 3 siblings and 3 of her children; Beatrice, Charles and Melinda.

Celon started a medical clinic in south Phoenix, South Phoenix Community Medical Center, where she served as Executive Director. She loved sewing, gardening and painting figureines. Celon was a senior member at Antioch Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Women's Missionary Society. Celon and Howard Sr. were the foster parents to some 19 children over the course of 12 years. Celon has gone home to be with the Lord. However, those who loved and knew Celon will forever remember her.

Visitation 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2010 at Greer-Wilson Funeral Home 5921 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85033 (623) 245-0994 with services 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1622 N. 39th Ave., Phoenix, Arizona 85009 with interment to follow at East Resthaven Park Cemetery.
