1919 ~ 2009

West Jordan, Utah Chad Robert Chesnut, 89, passed away on February 14, 2009 after a short but valiant fight with cancer.
He was born in Escalante, Utah on June 18, 1919 to George Henry Chesnut and Eleanor Barker. He joined the Army in August, 1941 and served his country in World War II. While stationed in Tennessee in 1944 he met Dorothy May Henderson and they were married in Pueblo, Colorado on October 1, 1946. Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 19, 1964. He had a long and distinguished career with the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad in Colorado and Utah where he eventually retired. Active in the LDS Church he served in various callings over the years and loved to spend time compiling and recording family history.
Survived by his wife, Dorothy; two children, Leslie and Patricia Bergstrom (Kevin); four grandchildren, Brittany Jones (Tim), Clint (Becca), Krista, Erika Norton (Brian); three great grandchildren, Payton, Parker, and Cooper; sisters, Lorna Evans, Hilma Stevens (Joe). Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Barker Lamur, Lavor, George Hugh, Adrian; sisters, Annie Effie, Ruby.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the West Jordan Utah Heritage Stake Center, 7330 So. 3200 W., West Jordan, Utah. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So, Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah, and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Internment in the Memorial Estates Redwood Road Cemetery.
