Charles A. Crites, Retired U.S. Navy , age 74 of Cleveland, beloved husband of 44 years of Claire (nee Crooks); loving father of Christopher (Christine); dear grandfather of Joshua; brother of Thomas (Rosemary); uncle of Cathy, Jane, Valerie, Rick and Anne; and friend of many. During his lifetime, Chuck served as a payroll clerk for 21 years while in the U.S. Navy, worked 20 years with H.U.D. and ushered for the last few years at Progressive Field in Cleveland . Ever since childhood, he was an avid sports fan who enjoyed keeping stats of all his favorite teams especially the St. Louis Cardinals.Chuck was dedicated member of the Pearl Road United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and on various committees. He passed away at Lutheran Hospital on Monday, May 24, 2010. Memorials may be forwarded to Pearl Road United Methodist Church, 4220 Pearl Road, Cleveland, OH 44109. Funeral services at the Pearl Road United Methodist Church, Cleveland on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:30am. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 .
