'FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS' my dear friend. Though we didn't get to see one another very often after our Navy careers ended, I will miss reminiscing with Chuck about the good times we had together, especially during our tour in Winter Harbor. To the entire Crites family,

I was so saddened to hear of Chuck's sudden passing. What a shock to all of those who knew him well. I informed everyone that I could think of of his being called Home, to be at the Lords table. He will be missed when his bowling team and league friends takes to the lanes in August. It just won't be quite the same without him.

Celebrate his life every day, as I will remember him with great fondness and as a wonderful friend.

I would always enjoy seeing Chuck a number of times every year at family picnics, birthday parties, or holidays, and my memories of him will always be accompanied by a smile on my face.

He always enjoyed a comfortable chair and a good game on the television. We would ususally share our frustrations with the Cleveland Browns, Indians or Cavaliers, but he was always a little more upbeat than I was, and much more knowledgable about the players.

The quality I like most about Chuck was his ready smile and that ear-to-ear grin whenever he would laugh.

He will be missed.

I grew up calling him “uncle” since early childhood. My parents Herb and Bonnie were very close friends with Chuck and Claire since being stationed together in Maine while serving in the Navy. As a child I have fond memories of visiting Uncle Chuck’s house and playing with Chris. I remember going to their house and Uncle Chuck would have a ballgame going in every room on every TV, and radio. He was a patient and soft spoken man who

He was a patient and soft spoken man who had a remarkable ability to recall statistics of sport figures from various eras of baseball and other sports. I would have used him as a “phone a friend” if I ever made it onto the TV show Who Wants to be a Millionaire. I have fond memories of attending a Cleveland Indians game with Uncle Chuck and Chris when I was very young. He will missed greatly by his family, friends and community. I will miss you “Uncle” Chuck…
