CARRELL, JR., CHARLES S. (CHUCK), born in Dallas, Tx on December 3, 2009 and passed away on November 19, 2009. Chuck a native of Dallas, attended Adamson High School, NTAC and the University of Texas in Austin. He was a decorated Veteran of World War II, having served as a B-24 pilot with the 15th Air Force in Italy. Chuck retired fron the Reserves in 1957 as as Captain and received the Certificate of Valor by order of General Nathan Twining and the Hellenic Commerative Medal from the Greek Government. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1949, where he was president of Sigma Nu Fraternity, served on the Student Assembly and was a Cowboy. Chuck was an executive with Sentry Insurance for 36 years and was listed in the "Who's Who Among Professional Insurance." He held both the CPCU and CLU designations. An active member of Walnut Hill United Methodist Church having served on the Finance Committee, Trustees, Pastor Parish Committee and the Administrative Board. He was a member of the Harmony Class and had served as its president. He was a member of the DeGraxier Masonic Lodge and the Dallas Scottish Rite Bodies and a member of the Brookhaven Country Club. Chuck is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anne McNeill Carrell; daughter Cathy Anne Carrell Parker; son Charles Kirk Carrell; two granddaughters Jaclyn Anne and Mikala Rae Carrell; a host of nieces and nephews and a few good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bobby Joe and sister Betty Jean Carrell; Aunt Annica L. Carrell and Uncle James T. Carrell. Memorials should be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital or the Capital Campaign Fund of the Walnut Hill United Methodist Church.
