Chuck D. Cooper
Asheville, NC
Charles "Chuck" Davis Cooper, Jr., 60, of 117 Summerglen Drive, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011.
Born in Asheville, he was the son of the late Charles Davis Cooper, Sr. and Paris Holder Cooper.
Chuck was a graduate of Lee Edwards High School and attended college in Miami, FL where he pursued a career as a commercial pilot. He was formerly employed with Hubble Distributing, was a member of The Chapel and had been attending Asheville Freewill Baptist Church. He was also a US Army National Guard Veteran, Military Police.
Surviving is a sister, Barbara Cooley (Mike) of Homosassa, FL; an aunt, Mildred Lewis of Asheville; his loving and caring companion, Donna Clark, her children and granddaughter he loved as his own, Shelby Clark and Tyler Clark of Asheville and Jillian Clark of Clinton, SC.
A service to celebrate Chuck's life will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens, SC.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, The Elizabeth House, 581 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
The family will be at their respective homes.
