Charles Delbert Perkins, 83, of Jessieville, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 in a local hospital. Born February 1, 1928, he was a member of Marble Missionary Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Elmer Perkins, sister Dorothy Thacker and son Richard Perkins.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Hazel Perkins of Jessieville; son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Wanda Perkins; grandson, Jacob Perkins of Tennessee; two granddaughters and their husbands, Mandy and Justin Whiley of Jessieville and Heather and Harrell Sharkey of Louisiana; daughter-in-law, Susanne Prine of Magnolia, Mississippi; four great-grandchildren, Elliott Whiley, Anna Sharkey, Emma Sharkey and Cole Sharkey; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Narvel Thacker of Hot Springs.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Marble Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jimmy Dale Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be Jacob Perkins, Justin Whiley, Elmer Perkins, Jr., Curtis Perkins, Johnny Tash and John Ray Bean. Honorary pallbearers are Billy and Marcell Stultz. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gross Funeral Home.
The family would like to give special thanks to Arkansas Hospice for the loving care they gave him.
