Charles E. Smith, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Charles was the superintendant of the Signal Department with the City of Fort Wayne then later became a general contractor. Charles was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He was also very artistic and had beautiful paintings. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Jeanne Smith; daughter, Cheryle McPherson; grandchildren, Alisa Coats, Erica McPherson, Whitney McPherson and Christoffer McPherson; great-grandchildren, TJ Snow, Jr, Cherish McPherson. Sister Tracy Coil of Macon Georgia. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, James & Marvel Smith, and son in law Oscar McPherson. Service is 11am Friday at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Rd with calling one hour prior to service, Fr. David Ruppert officiating.
