Charles Ford Jr., age 56, the son of the late Charles Ford Sr. and Hazel Kirrutia-Ford, was born on April 20, 1955, in Harrisburg, PA. Charles was raised in Millersburg and graduated from Millersburg High School in 1974, where he was a well known football player and sincere friend to all. Charles was a dedicated employee at Arcelor-Mittal (formerly Bethlehem Steel Corp.), for a total of 37 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed regular fishing trips with his friends and co-workers to Canada and New York. Additionally, he was a former youth sports coach and coached Millersburg Little League from 1993-1995, Millersburg midget football from 1994-1997 and Millersburg Pee Wee football from 1991-1994. In his leisure, Charles enjoyed walking his beautiful pit bull-Diamond, listening to music, spending time with friends and hanging out at "the club house". Charles was never happier than when he was with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Los Angeles Lakers, Oakland Athletics, Oakland Raiders and USC Trojans fan. Charles never missed any of his children's or grandchildren's sporting events. Charles was a strong man who endured alot, but always remained faithful to his family. At 56 years of age, Charles transitioned into eternal life to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday, February 1, 2012, at Holy Spirit Hospital. Charles had a fiance-Candace Sidoriak, of Harrisburg. Charles was preceded in death by his parents-Charles Ford Sr. and Hazel Kirrutia-Ford; his grandmother-Lucy Helen (Lee) Minghella and James Tressler. Charles leaves to celebrate his life and honor his memories of him, his sister-Hazel Ford-Jones, of Dalmatia-his proud daughter, Amy Ford and her son-Gavin Ford, of Paxtang; his beloved daughter-Beth Ford and her daughter-Breawna Ford, of Harrisburg and his "number one son"-Charles Ford III, of Elizabethville; his in-laws: Edith and Elmer Tressler, who were like his second set of parents; the mother of his children-Catherine Ford, Bruce Tressler, Jean and Jim Martz, Sue and Scott Hoy and their families. He is also survived by many relatives and friends. Romans 10: 9, 10 and 13. That if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart, that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. For everyone who calls in the name of the Lord will be saved. "Dad", we will miss you everyday. A special thank-you to Cheryl Ciambotti, Licensed Minister, whom Charles had recently developed a special relationship with. A celebration of Charles' life will occur on Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Hoover Boyer Funeral Home at 118 South Market Street, Millersburg, PA where a viewing will occur from 9-11 a.m. followed by a memorial service and fellowship at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodges, 345 Market Street, Millersburg, PA.
