Charles G. Bowen, 80, of the 7400 block of Halprin Drive, Norfolk, VA, passed away December 24, 2011, in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Nebraska, he was retired from Fleet Maintenance at N.I.T., Inc. He was US Naval veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam serving as a 1st class ship fitter in the Navy. He was a member of the VFW. He is survived by his son, David Lee Bowen and wife Zoila; a step-son, Dan Richardson and wife Greta; a sister, Gayle Horn; and a step-granddaughter, Briseida Marmolejo. As per his wishes, Mr. Bowen will be buried at sea by the US Navy with military honors. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel is handling the arrangements.
