Charles J. Johnson Jr., 59, a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida for 27 years, passed away on October 18, 2011. He was born in Bronx, New York and moved to Fort Pierce in 1984, coming from New York.
In 1984, Mr. Johnson and his wife opened Charlie's Auto Sales, which he owned and operated for over 25 years. He was also a brilliant chef and loved to cook and entertain.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Rosemary Johnson; father, Charles J. Johnson, Sr.; children, Jennifer and Kenny Osteen of Okeechobee, FL; Tiffany Johnson and Charles William Johnson of Port Saint Lucie, FL; Helene and George Gonzalez of South Carolina; 6 grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Katherine and Roger Hoffman, sister Christine Zappier, and brothers Al Johnson and Dennis Johnson; brothers and sisters in law, William and Jessica Lawston of the Bronx; Dawn Jirak of the Bronx; Tommy Lawston, Chris Lawston, and Maureen Wagner , all of Port Saint Lucie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Johnson, and brother, John Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM and 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Forest Hills Funeral Home – Byrd, Young, & Prill Chapel in Port Saint Lucie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11:00AM at the Saint Lucie Catholic Church in Port Saint Lucie. Interment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
