Charles Caslin Jamison, Jr., affectionately known as "Moose", went home to the Lord on Sunday, November1, 2009. He died as he lived, listening to jazz, in the loving hands of his family, at his home of 45 years at the age of 82. Moose was born on January 22, 1927, to the late Charles and Grace Cook Jamison, in Summit, New Jersey, but is known as a long time citizen of Morristown. Moose graduated from Morristown High School in 1946, and matriculated at Howard University for two years until his studies were interrupted for service as a cook in the United States Army during the Korean War. He continued his studies at Rutgers University in Newark earning a bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 1954 and furthered his studies at Newark College of Engineering, now known as New Jersey Institute of Technology, earning a master's degree in Chemical engineering in 1960. Moose proudly began and ended his career as a chemical engineer for the United States government at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey from 1954 to 1994. While at Picatinny, he was recognized for his work by receiving a patent for "Prevention of Caking of Granular Material". The same attention to detail was often seen in his meticulous preparation of "Moose Juice". Everyone in the Morristown community knew the Moose. Be it, his involvement in local sports, work with his church, Calvary Baptist, or as a founding member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance Committee, a member of the Morris County Fair Housing Council, and the Morris School District Merger Committee; his smiling face and willing attitude, let you know that the Moose was ready to serve. Moose is cherished in memory by his wife of 54 years, Dr. Felicia Brown Jamison, and son, Charles, and wife, Linda, and grandsons, Damien and William of Philadelphia, PA; and son, Alex, and wife, Dana, and grandchildren, Marcus, Douglass, and Alicia of Paradise Valley, AZ. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother, Walter Jamison and his wife, Catherine; his sister, Mildred, and her husband, the late Gilbert McCoy; and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family wishes to thank all those who have given us love, comfort, sustenance, and prayers throughout this time and in lieu of flowers ask that donations be made in his name to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation, 401 F Street, NW, Washington, DC, 20001 and the Junior Matrons of Morristown, c/o Deborah Alston, 12 Upper Field Road, Morristown, NJ 07960. Alex and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn the loss of your dad. I can remember when we were little kids playing football for the Twin Town Tigers your dad was at every practice and game cheering us on the sidelines. He was a dad to us all. A great man and a great role model for all of us young men who grew up in Morristown. God Bless you. Bryan Williams San Diego CA

To Mrs. Jamison, and my brother's Chucky and Alex I have no words that would do for this wonderful man. Seeing Mr. Jamison at little league thru our football days he was a fixture. Not just in the stands or the sidelines, but in our heart and mind. Mr Jamison cared about you as a person. Rest in peace "Moose". With deepest respect and love. ...Kevin Allen...
