WOOD, Charles Michael, 54, of Richmond, passed away on April 27, 2009. He was preceded in death by his father, Odell Wood. He is survived by his partner, Peter Gates; mother, Esther Wood; sister and brother-in-law, Anne and H.B. Bryant; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Julita Wood; daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Kevin Bruchert; daughter and son-in-law, Hilary and Nathan Dwight; three grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. A native of the Eastern Shore, Michael was a wonderfully creative, gifted individual, who could teach himself to do just about anything. He particularly enjoyed playing the piano, reading, gardening, creating stained glass artwork, traveling, and visiting with his daughters and grandchildren. He was employed at Philip Morris for 20 years. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave, Richmond. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, 9884 Main St., P.O. Box 458, Damascus, Md. 20872.
