Charles Ray Turney, age 69 of Mabelvale, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 29, 2011 in his home after a lengthy battle with Emphysema. He was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on January 14, 1942 to his late parents Bud Turney and Evelyn Harrington Turney. Charles was a member of the Church at Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock and trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and was the owner of Tanglewood Shell Station in Little Rock. His favorite memories were spending time with his devoted wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Bettie Turney; three children, Patty Cato (Darren) of Benton, AR, Tina White (Lance) of Vilonia, AR and Charles “Buck” Turney (Jessica) of Mabelvale, AR; one brother Bob Turney of Morrilton, AR and one sister, Kay Shoffner of Damascus, AR; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and countless friends and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers R. C. Turney and Ralph “Bo” Turney.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, AR (501) 455-1067 with Pastor Danny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, June 3, 2011 at the funeral home.
