It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Charles Robert DeMott mourn his death and celebrate his joy at being with his Lord...

Charles Roert DeMott, 69, of Martinsville, passed away on Thursday, March 27th, 2008, at the Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana.

The son of Robert DeMott and Lillian (Kidwell) Lane, he was born on May 21, 1938 in Morgan County, Indiana.

He married Carol S. (Arend) DeMott on May 2, 1982. She survives in Martinsville.

Charles was a Meat Cutter and formerly owned and operated Hill Top Market and Charlie's DeCorner Grocery Store both in Martinsville. He was also co-owner of DeCorner Liquors and Discount Liquors, both of which are located in Martinsville.

He attended River Valley Christian Church in Martinsville.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1349, Sons of the American Legion Post #230 and he formerly served on the County Council and the Sheriff's Merit Board.

He enjoyed horse racing, his grandchildren's sporting events and he was an avid Prudue & LA Dodgers fan.

He was a 1956 graduate of Center Grove High School.

Charles is survived by one sister, Eleanor Witt of Mooresville, Indiana; two sons, Brad DeMott of Spokane, Washington and Craig DeMott of Martinsville, Indiana; one daughter Renda Trimble of Martinsville, Indiana; two step-sons, Wayne Moore of Martinsville and Scott Moore of Tipton, Indiana; five grandchildren, Ryan, Justin JR", and Kelsey DeMott and Mikala & Beau Trimble; three step grandchildren, Adam and Bryce Moore and Rachel Shultz; two great grandsons, Dawsyn and Nolan DeMott.

Viewing will be held at Neal & Summers Mortuary on Sunday, March 30 from 2:00 - 7:00 pm and Monday, March 31st and one hour prior to service. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am at Neal & Summers Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville, Indiana. Reverend Kevin Able and David Keister will officiate the services.
