Charles Utah Sutterfield, age 79, a resident of Russellville died Friday, June 1, 2012, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 14, 1933, at Landis, Arkansas to Samuel Carol and Gertrude Lawrence Sutterfield. He was a retired barber and United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was also a retired Assembly of God evangelist and pastor. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and garage sales. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Roselea Sutterfield; and a nephew, Russell Sutterfield.

Survivors include his wife of fifty nine years, Lea Sutterfield of Russellville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Jan Sutterfield of Russellville, Tony and Betty Sutterfield of Bentonville, Michael and Rhonda Sutterfield of Cabot and Greg and Amy Sutterfield of Russellville; a brother, Bernard Sutterfield of Wichita, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Charles Kendrick and the Rev. Sidney Ray officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the V. F. W. Rogers-Rye Post 2283, will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Sutterfield, Daniel Caudle, Austin Sutterfield, Caleb Sutterfield, Cameron Sutterfield and Jeff Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Moorehouse, John Sorrels, Gerald Chenowith, Jack Bishop and David Ewart.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Children's Home, 2325 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901.
