WILLIAMS, Charles W. , Sr., 83 of St. Petersburg, Florida died on 3/30/09. Born and raised in Florida, a Coast Guard veteran of WWII; "Chuck" is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Catherine, six children, Dean(Marilyn), Charles W. Jr., Monica (Tom) Watson, Peggy (Bill) Scheerer, Eva (Jim) Hester, Patricia (Mark) Grimes, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Patricia Schmid, Spokane, Marilyn Williams, Tuscon and a brother, Forrest, Pittsfield, MA. Additionally, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. "Chuck", never met a stranger. He had many hobbies through the years from being an avid fisherman, loved wood working and jewelry making, a ham radio operator and was a sideline sports fan. As his vision failed, his love of reading continued, thanks to Audio Books for the Blind. He was funny, he was generous, he was humble. He loved his family, his church and had an exuberance for life until his final day. He will be remembered dearly by all. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 6, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will be 12:45 PM Tuesday, April 7, at Bay Pines National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Florida Division of Blind Services or the Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund.
