Charlotte May (Ferriter) Culhane- Of Watertown passed away on the morning of April 3, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Edward J. Culhane, Sr.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 6, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Richard T. and Mary Ellen (Raleigh) Ferriter, who were both born in Ireland. Mrs. Culhane was a retired executive secretary for Sun Life Financial. She had been an active member of the Church of Saint Luke Ladies Sodality.
Charlotte was the loving mother of Lauras C. Kelly & her husband William of Dedham; Catherine C. Hermann & her husband Peter of Marblehead; Ellen M. Culhane of Watertown; and Edward J. Culhane, Jr. & his wife Janeen of Cohasset. Loving grandmother of Lauren, Julie, & Greg Kelly; Cate, Tory & Maggie Hermann; Courtney & E. J. Culhane, III.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings: Richard Ferriter , Lawrence Ferriter, William Ferriter, Josephine Ferriter, and Sr. Dorothy Ferriter, C.S.J..
Her funeral will be held from the STANTON FUNERAL HOME, 786 Mount Auburn Street, (Rt. 16) Watertown on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of Saint Luke, 132 Lexington St., Belmont at 10:30 AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, W. Roxbury. Visiting hours Sunday. April 5, 2009 from 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Culhane’s memory to the Caritas Good Samaritan Hospice, 310 Allston St., Brighton, MA 02472 would be appreciated.
