Charlotte R. Williams, 63, resident of Camden, MO, passed away January 16, 2012. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00pm Saturday January 21, 2012 at the Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Charlotte was preceded in death by her father John Raymond Hazzard and a grandson Treyvyn Lee Maddex Whitmore. Survivors include her husband of 41 years Sylvester L. Williams Sr, of the home , son Sylvester L. William Jr (Sherri) of Independence, daughter Charmaine Williams and fiancée Matthew Whitmore) of Kansas City, step-sons Randy, Steve and Terry Williams of California. Mother Wanda Lee Hazzard of Stockton, MO, brothers Danny Hazzard (Kay) of Iowa, and John Raymond Hazzard Jr. (Darla) of Stockton MO and sister Beverly Rice (Robert) of Kansas City, MO. Grandchildren Olivia, Ian, Teren, Cierra and Rainyn all of Kansas City MO, and great granddaughter Mya.
Charlotte and her husband met at Waids restaurant where they both worked together in 1969. On February 2,1970 their first child was born Sylvester Lee Williams Jr. they married a little over a year later in a simple service at city hall. They had their second child Charmaine Michelle Williams on June 3,1976. She also worked for R.L. Polk for almost 20 years where she worked her way up to Regional district manager. Her husband and her retired to the lake of the Ozarks 18 years ago to live in Edwards, MO. She worked at local grocery stores and the Walmart's in Camdenton and Warsaw MO as well.
She was a very deicated wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She is one of the strongest most resilient woman I've ever known. She loved to garden , read mystery novels and bake. She has survived more things in her life than any one person should have to endure. The loss of a child in her 20's , thyroid cancer in her 30's, two major life threatening accidents, and the loss of a grandchild. Even through it all she remained an optimistic person who would always say tomorrow is another day and would wake each day expecting the best.
My mother will be dearly missed by all she will never die in our hearts and her spirit of forgiviness and hope should be a shining example of how we all should want to be. I hope someday to meet her in heaven again like all our loved ones who came before her. Our lives will never be the same but they were made better for knowing her and loving her and being loved by her.
