Cheryl Springer, 62, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Cheryl worked as a Nurse with St Joseph Hospital and Lutheran Hospital, retiring in 2007. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and was the Secretary / Treasurer for the alter guild of the church and Stephen Ministries. Cheryl enjoyed crafts and made blankets for the new born babies at the church and was a nature lover. Surviving are her brother, Lenard (Carol) Springer of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, June Springer of Ossian; nephews, Dale Springer of Weatherford, TX, Jeff Springer of New Zealand and Michael Springer of Fort Wayne; nieces, Jana Grothaus of Ossian, Shelley Westendorf of NC and Julie Springer of Mishawaka, IN; as well as 8 great-nieces and nephews. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Beryl Springer; brothers, William A and Herbert C Springer. Service is 10:30am, December 17, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church, 729 West Washington with calling one hour prior. Visitation is 5 to 7pm Friday, December 16, 2011 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. Burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Preferred memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
