Christina D. Gabriel, born December 16, 1956, to Martha and Jose DeOliveira in Norfolk, VA, fell asleep on January 19, 2012, surrounded by her husband and children. She fought a courageous battle against Myelodysplastic Syndrome (leukemia). Those left to keep her memory alive are her high school sweetheart and husband of 33 years, Louis Gabriel; children, Noelle, Candice, Andrew and Alex; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff, Nathaniel, Jenny; siblings Robert, Lennie, Nick, and Gloria. She will be missed the most by her precious grandchildren Gabriel, Sophia, Helen, Penelope, and Ava. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family of Louis and Christina Gabriel to help with the enormous cost of her bone marrow transplant and funeral expenses. Checks can be written to Louis or Candice Gabriel at 451 Thole St., Norfolk, VA 23505. A prayer service will be Friday, January 20, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Norfolk. Please see www.hollomon-brown.com for more information.
