every time it is chrismas chris was the first 1 to wake us all up to see what santa brought us. i think back to when we were kids and i see him pocken me to get up and go down to the tree to start rippen in to everything the only problem was it was always about 5:30 am. our parents loved that. as we got older he was still that way. there was alway somrthing about my brother that made every hoilday better. it has been 7 months now and i miss him so much . i hope he is looking down on us all smilen and getting ready to make us all get up early chrismas morning just like he would and watch the kids faces as they run to tree like we did to open there gifts . chris u been gone but u have always remand in our hearts and minds. keep watch over us all .

Chris and I never really said goodbye back then, life was changing quickly for us all, and it managed to pull us in seperate directions. So time went on...and so did our lives. Until... one day...blink... before I knew it, I was forty; looking back at my life's journey, and remembering those friends that walked with me in the past, and have contributed in some way to who I am today. Chris, was one of those friends.

So now, twenty years later, today August 1, 2020, I heard the news that Chris was called Home. I found myself, for one moment, regretting, that once again, I never got a chance to say goodbye. The moment has passed, and I realize, that this is not the end of the story; so even if I had had a chance to say my goodbye, I think, instead I would have chosen to say "I'll see you soon."

I saw you accept Jesus as your savior and redeemer a very long time ago... and immediately saw a changed young man. There is no doubt in my heart and soul, that-- my friend-- I will see soon.

It has been over two months since Chris left us an is in heaven with God. Katrice an A.J.;Jamie;Kelly an Paul we all miss him so much.No pain for him now. He enjoyed life while he was with us. Now that everything is done and over with, we get to the first day of life after everything has calmed down. It has been a couple of weeks since you passed, and every day seems unreal. I knew the day would come when we all were called home and pass on from this life. I never thought it would be this soon. Never did I imagine your time with your young family would be cut this short. Never did I expect you not to be around on this Earth with your son and nephews as they all grew up together. I know you didn't expect it either. Our mission has always been to give them a better life than we had. We had a good life, but, we all wanted better for ours kids. I think it is safe to say mission accomplished. They all have a better life, and, will continue to do so. The lessons you have taught your son are always going to hold strong in his character.

I think that as a family, we have been successful in carrying out your final wishes. Everything we talked about happened. I think your wife and son have done amazing during this time. Your son insisted on taking the trash to the can because it is his job as he told his mom last night. That told me everything I needed to know. Your teaching, guidance, and love for him has paid off. He is going to grow up and have a great life, and the lessons you provided to him, he is already carrying out.

The last day I spoke to you, which was the Thursday before... I pulled up in the driveway and your son was outside shooting arrows at a bag against the tree. When I walked up to him, he asked me why I was here and I told him to say hi to your wife and our mom, and, to say hi to him also. He said "My dad is doing alot better today. I think he is doing great today." The look on his face told a different story. One of worry and concern. Even at such a young age, he is very intelligent and aware of his surroundings.

We changed our conversation to him shooting at the bag. I told him to shoot so I could see how well he was doing. He had 4 arrows. He shot at the bag and didn't miss one. He was pretty close to the bag. "I'm more of a short range kind of guy, not really long range." he told me. I told him that he should move further back and give it a try. So, he did. He hit 1 and missed 3. I told him to try again. He got the same result, rushing one shot after another. At that moment, I told him what you told me. "Practice patience." If your dad were outside right now with you, he would tell you to slow down, take a few extra seconds to line up your shot, and shoot with confidence."

He hit all 4. He took his time and was patient. "Nothing worth having in life is easy or quick. You have to be patient and think before you act. Do you understand?" which he replied "Yes, Uncle Paul. Thanks, I can hit them all now further back!"

You told me that months ago about somehting I was struggling with. It rings out in my mind. I'm just glad I was able to share with him what you shared with me. We all lose our way in life, getting caught up in tasks rather than the bigger picutre. While you are no longer on this Earth with us, I am here to make sure that whenever your son gets lost and needs guidance with anything, myself, along with everyone that love him, your wife, your mom, your family, and your friends, are here to make sure the words that ring out over and over in my mind, are offered to him to make sure he has your input into his life choices. I'm sure he has his own memories of things you have told him. Your family will also make sure we offer the wisdom you have provided to us all, directly to him, and help keep him on the path of your goal, to a better life for him than we had.

i knew chris in the 3rd grade we went to sylvan park elem.together we wrode bikes and made motorcross tracks in nashville .My father took a job in smyrna in 82 and went to smyrna schools .Well one day at David fraziers house i ran into my old friend we spent high school together me,john dourghty,david,and chris we were a hoot .I miss ya chris .RAY BRYANT

Chris was so funny and he always had a smile on his face when I saw him. Katrice, you have no idea how very sorry I am and deeply saddened I am by your loss. I know you and AJ and your family have to be going through so much right now. My thoughts, prayers and my heart are with you always...
