Christopher Emil Almond, 45, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011, at home in Fort Wayne. Born in Ft. Wayne, IN, Christopher was the owner of Details Cleaning Inc and co-owned 2 rental properties, and also was a manager for Carlos O'Kelly Restaurant. He was an artist and do-it-yourselfer who enjoyed bowling, billiards / pool, gardening, home improvement projects and was an amazing singer. Christopher was a devoted Christian who always had his Bible with him. Surviving are his life partner of 10 years, Derek Nelson of Fort Wayne; mother and father-in-law, Cindy (Roy) Nelson of Muncie, IN; brothers, Robbie (Sherrie) Almond and Andrew (Chantay) Almond of Fort Wayne; sisters, Sandra (Tom) Hutchinson of Ione, WA, Kari (Bruce) Gulker of St. George, UT, Suzy (Roy) Pucket of Columbia City, IN, Cathleen (Reggie) Chilcote of Fort Wayne and Shannon (Ron) Shaneyfelt of Wolf Lake, IN; several nieces and nephews; Sadie, his beloved dog; and beloved cats, Tucker, Dot, Lo Lo, and Boomer. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Irvin and Lyla Rose Almond. Service is 2pm, January 6, 2012 at Come 2 Go Ministries, 323 West Baker Street, Pastor Jesse Christopherson officiating, with calling one hour prior. Visitation is 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm Thursday, January 5, 2012 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
