Christopher John Accardo, Sr. (C.J.) entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Beloved husband of over 60 years to Shirley Melito Accardo. Father of Karen A. Lambert (Danny), Chris Accardo Jr. (Gwen), Craig Accardo (Lana), Keith Accardo (Michaela) and Kim A. Dunn (Roger). Grandfather of Chrissy Mendel (Audy), Jeffrey Lambert, Stephanie, Brett, Brandon, Keith, Alexa and Colin Accardo, Cameron and Sean Dunn. Great-grandfather of Gia and Sami Mendel and Braedon Accardo. Son of the late Joseph P. Accardo, Sr. and Angelina Caronna Accardo. Brother of Anthony Accardo and the late Charles Accardo, Angelina A. DiGiovanni, Lena A. Miller, Madeline A. Scalise, Joseph P. Accardo Jr., Nicholas Accardo, and Michael Accardo.

Mr. Accardo was a U.S. Army Korean Veteran, a member of the U.S. Marine Reserves and a member of the U.S. National Guard. He was a retired employee of the Western Electric Co. and Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. He was a member of the Girard Golden Age Club of Jefferson Parish and the East Jefferson Italian American Society.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial.
