Christopher Lynn Vidmar, 46, of Johnston, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN after a strong fight against leukemia. Chris was born to Leonard and Dixie Vidmar on February 15, 1963 in Des Moines. He graduated from Dowling High School in 1981. Chris married the love of his life, Lynn Granger on May 29, 1983. Together they had three beautiful children, Bailey, Brooke and Cole who Chris adored. His family was his life. Chris managed John's Auto Sales and had many friends in the car business. He had previously worked for Hy-Vee for 15 years. He shared the passion of hunting with his son, father and his dogs. Chris loved to be out on the golf course and was an avid KC Chiefs fan and enjoyed all sports. He never missed an event in which his children were participating. Chris is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Bailey, Brooke and Cole; parents, Leonard and Dixie Vidmar; father and mother-in-law, John and Celayne Huot; sisters, Lisa (Jim) Williams and Kim (Paul) Walker; nephews, Cody Kauzlarich, Taylor Walker, Logan and Landon Williams; brothers-in-law, Jon and Jason Huot. You may visit Chris at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3601 66th St. in Urbandale from 3 to 6 pm on Sunday, November 22, 2009 with a Rosary held at 5:30 pm or greet the family at 9 am, Monday, November 23rd at St. Pius X Catholic Church, the mass will follow at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
