Clair "Paul" Knerr, 91, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Regency Place in Fort Wayne. Born in Van Wert, OH, Paul was a WWII veteran and continued his service in the Army for 19 years, earning the rank of Major. Soon after Paul worked with Sears for several years before working with General Portland Cement for 30 years, retiring in 1986 as a sales manager. He was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #208, and retired officers association. He had a true passion for woodworking. Paul was an active volunteer for Parkview Hospital. He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. Surviving are his sons, Gary P. (Cheri) Knerr of North Prairie, WI, Colby D. (Susan) Knerr of Fort Wayne, brother, Don J. (Joan) Knerr of Payne, OH, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Paul preceded in death by parents, Otto W. and Clara Knerr, wife, Lois Knerr, brothers, O. Dean, Glenn M., and Mark W. Knerr, and granddaughter, Valancy Kossow. Service is 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 26, 2011 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior, Dr Kathleen Haller officiating. Calling at the funeral home Friday, November 25, 2011 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
