Clara Moore Brown Harrison, 95, wife of the late James Rayford Harrison, Sr., of Abbeville, died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Abbeville Area Medical Center. She was born in Abbeville to the late John R. and Clara Gilliam Brown. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Ladies Society. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie H. Ashley, and a sister, Frances Sefton. She is survived by two sons; James R. 'Jimmy' Harrison and his wife, Mary N., of Pelzer, SC and Phillip Harrison of Yonkers, NY; two daughters, Joyce Cann, and her husband, Allen, and Bobbie Arnold and her husband, T.R., Jr., both of Abbeville; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 7:30PM Monday, September 3, 2012 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Sharon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eric Shepard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Harrison, may be sent to the Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 246 Sharon Church Rd., Abbeville, SC 29620. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Cann in Abbeville. A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting www.harrisfuneral.com.
