Born in Peckville on August 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Elvira Calibani. Educated in Eynon schools, she had worked at the former Hillcrest Lampshade Factory for 15 years prior to her retirement. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Old Forge. An avid walker, she spent years walking alongside her dear late friend, Jean Kobeski. Affectionately referred to as "Noni" by her grandchildren, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sons, James Astolfi and wife Beryl of Dalton, and Louis Astolfi, Jr., of Roaring Brook Twp.; a sister, Elsie Piersomoni and husband Eugene of Peckville; four grandchildren, Cheryl Burger and husband Jim, Linda Astolfi-Lewis and husband Dave, Melissa Astolfi and Louis Astolfi and wife Amanda; and three great-grandchildren, DaVae Lewis, Jack and Hudson Astolfi. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kenneth Sebastianelli and the staffs of both Hospice Community Care and Moses Taylor Hospital for the exceptional kindness and care they've given to Clara. Brothers, Albert, Eugene and Leonard Calibani; a sister, Dora Coombs; and a daughter-in-law, Ellen Astolfi, also preceded her in death. Funeral services have been scheduled for Wednesday at 9:15AM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's of the Assumption RC Church in Old Forge.
