Clara Marie McVay, nee Nolan, 89, passed away May 16th, 2011 in her home in Point Loma. She was born in AR in 1921 and moved to San Diego with her family when she was 12. She graduated from San Diego High School with the class of 1941. Clara Marie married Truman McVay two months after the start of World War II, and they started a wonderful 58 years together upon his return from Guadalcanal. She worked as a physiotherapist and receptionist alongside her husband, a doctor of chiropractic, in Pacific Beach for 52 years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, and is survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24th at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in San Diego. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, 2468 Historic Decatur Road, Bldg. 905, Ste. 150, San Diego, CA 92106, or woundedwarriorproject.org.
