Mr. Clarence M. "Barney" Barnhart, 75, of 10930 Country Club Road, Waynesboro, passed away Monday morning, November 28, 2011 while hunting in Quincy Township. His death was unexpected and attributed to natural causes. Born April 26, 1936 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Emmert M. and Elizabeth L. (Beaver) Barnhart. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Mr. Barnhart graduated from Washington Township High School with the class of 1954. He and his wife of nearly 55 years, Delores J. (Seilhamer) Barnhart, were married on December 29, 1956 in the Leitersburg Lutheran Church. They moved to their present residence in 1963. Mr. Barnhart was a welder at Frick Company, Waynesboro, from September 24, 1956 until his retirement on May 1, 1998. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Waynesboro, where he was a member of the Christian Crusaders Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Waynesboro Fish and Game, UAW #1296 Retirees, and the National AARP. Mr. Barnhart enjoyed hunting, working in his garden, walking in the mountain, reading, and attending his grandson's sporting events. He also enjoyed having his grandsons around to help him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Gary Barnhart and his wife Tanya of Waynesboro, and Donna Mowen and her husband Mike of Waynesboro; four grandsons, Brandon, Ethan, Michael, and Matthew; one sister, Anna Groft of Mont Alto; one brother, Tommy Barnhart of North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 2, 2011, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor John Huff, officiating. Burial will follow in Grindstone Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
