Clayton David Brown, 87, passed away peacefully October 29, 2011 after an illness while vacationing in Maui.

Clayton was born September 9, 1924 in Koosharem, Utah to George Henry and Mary Rosetta Christensen. He was the youngest of 10 children.

After graduating from Richfield High School, he was drafted into the U.S. Army on May 31, 1943. He trained at several bases before his departure to Europe. Upon returning, he lived in Spanish Fork. There he met and married, Berniece Larsen in the Salt Lake Temple. He owned and operated "Clayton's Cleaners" for close to 20 years in addition to working at Hercules Powder in Salt Lake City and Geneva Steel. It was in Spanish Fork they raised their five children.

Clayton was a prominent figure in Spanish Fork and at the Spanish Fork Senior Citizens Center. He loved to be with his Senior friends going on trips to Mesquite and Wendover and on many of the tours.

He loved time spent with his children and grandchildren. Family times were the best for him. His hobbies were gardening, traveling, shopping, and going out to lunch. His favorite color was purple.

Clayton is survived by his children, Jerolyn (Roy) Beers, of Cedar Hills; Jeanine (Jack) Stickney, of Tremonton; Jeffrey Brown, of Spanish Fork; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece; sons, Duane and David; and a great granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held in his honor on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork 19th Ward Chapel, 585 North Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, November 2, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork and on Thursday morning at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.

The family wishes to thank Dr. David Wang and Dr. Howard Reichman and the wonderful nurses at UVRMC for the love and compassion shown to Clayton.
