Clifford E. Adams, 88, of 910 Red Maple Drive, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011, at home. He was born on September 12, 1922, in Pleasant Township, Hancock County, Ohio, to Virgil and Ruth (Abair) Adams. Clifford, and the former Lorraine Peters, were united in marriage on February 11, 1945. Lorraine passed away on November 7, 1985, after 40 years of marriage. Clifford married Martha Kruyer on October 26, 1987, in Plymouth, at Saint Michael Catholic Church. Martha survives. Clifford retired from ownership of Culligan Soft Water Service in 1985. He was very active with the Boy Scouts of American and was presented the Silver Beaver Award. He belonged to the American Legion Post #27, Plymouth Moose Lodge #741, the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, and Saint Michael Catholic church. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing in Canada. He was a big sports enthusiast attending many of the high school sporting events. Clifford was a member of the Plymouth City Council for 12 years. He proudly served, his Country, in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Clifford is survived by his wife of 23 years, Martha Adams; his sons, Jim (Linda) Adams of Hong Kong, Joe (Pat) Adams of Plymouth, Bill (Jeanne) Adams of Plymouth, Dale Adams of New York, Brian (Anne) Adams of Indianapolis, Indiana, Paul (Jenny) Adams of Danville, Indiana; his daughters, Linda (James) Shorter of Plymouth, Barbara (Roy) Bottorff of Michigan City, Indiana, Kay (Larry) Faulstich of Plymouth, and Carol (Jeff) Hahn of Chesterton, Indiana; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jim Adams of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Adams; his brothers, Robert Adams and V. Stuart Adams; his infant sister, Gertrude Adams; and his infant grandson, Curtis Bottorff.
