Clifford Robert Crowell, 79, of Cromwell, husband of late Helen Maureen (Wise) Crowell, passed away on Tuesday, February 9th at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Chauncey and Mildred (Culver) Crowell. Cliff lived all of his life in Middletown and Cromwell and owned C & J Sales and Service in Cromwell for 30 years. He loved cars, woodworking, yard work and his beloved tractors. Cliff is survived by his son, James Crowell and his wife, Julia of Essex; two daughters, Pamela Fladd and her husband, Thomas of Meriden and Cynthia Osborne and her husband, Henry of Milford; four grandchildren, Erin Crowell, Janna Crowell, Sarah M. Fladd and Russell Fladd, and his dear friend, Anita Neumann of Rocky Hill. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16th at 11:00am at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell with the Rev. Douglas G. J. VanVeldhuisen officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00pm and in lieu of flowers, may make donations in Cliff's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 306 Industrial Park Road, Suite 105, Middletown, CT 06457.
