Clifton L. Arnold, age 80, of Canton passed away Monday, November 2, 2009. He was born December 1, 1928 in Johnston City IL., to the late Ranzo and Lona Mae Arnold. Clifton proudly served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. He was a member of the Church of the Covenant Presbyterian, Clinton Lodge # 47 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton and Massillon American Legion Post 221. Clifton was employed with Ohio Edison for many years. He retired from Prudential Insurance Company after many years of service. Clifton loved to play music and was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin and Melbourne Arnold. Clifton is survived by his loving wife Lois; son, Donald (Cathy) Arnold and daughter, Deborah (David) Van Nostran grandchildren, Matthew and Jennifer Arnold; sister, Helen Jent of Santa Barbara, CA. and several nieces and nephews. The family of Clifton Arnold would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Hanover House for all of their care. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Rev. William Watt officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Sunset Hills Memory Garden. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Thursday, November 5 from 6 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association 100 30th St. NW Canton Ohio 44709.
