Clinton Leon Winters was born November 14, 1939 in Boswell, OK, the son of Clarence "Lucky" Winters and Gladys (Elmore) Winters. He grew up in Boswell and lived in Sumner, TX from 1979 to 2010 prior to moving back to Boswell. His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Cecil Leon Winters, one sister, Katy Cameron and three brothers, Cecil Winters, Dee Winters and Craig Winters. Leon enjoyed riding on backroads and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving two tours of duty in Vietnam, served in Korea, Germany, Panama and several state side deployments in over 21 ½ years of service to his country. Leon was a lifetime member of the VFW and was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church, Boswell, OK. He married Betty Pierce on October 1, 1966 in Hugo.
Survivors Include: his wife, Betty Winters; a daughter in law, Cindy Winters of Paris. TX; three brothers, Al Winters of Brawley, CA, Doyle Winters of Boswell and Rudy Winters of Paris, TX; two sisters, Ruby Glenn of Hugo and Judy Woodrum of Bennington, OK; two grandsons, Clint Winters and Cobin Winters, both of Paris, TX along with a host of other family and friends.
