Clyde A. Peck Sr., 87, of Glover, passed away Monday, April 30, 2007, in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, following a long illness.
Born Feb. 22, 1920, at Honaker, VA, he was the son of the late Ellis and Ruth Miller Peck
Mr. Peck attended Brenton Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He coached Little League baseball for over 30 years where he also umpired and served on the Board of Directors. Mr. Peck worked several years in the logging industry. He enjoyed being with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Katherine Fields Peck; a sister, Jane Hicks; and a brother, Tilson Peck.
Survivors include five sons, Doug Peck and his wife, Rachel, of Pineville, Greg Peck of Glover, Randy Compton of Salem, VA, Ricky Peck of Beckley and Clyde Peck Jr. of Dallas, TX; a daughter, Glenda Peck of Middletown, OH; a brother, Junior Peck of Norton, VA; two sisters, Ruby Peck of Fort Wayne, IN and Mahala Hackler of Orlando, FL; a special grandson, Brandon Peck of Pineville; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
