Cody Glen Richardson of Perryville, MD, beloved and treasured son of Libby and Glen Richardson, brother of Wesley and Cara Richardson, departed this life on July 13, 2011. He was a recent 2011 graduate from Perryville High School with plans to attend Howard Community College and participate in track and field. Cody was best known and will forever be remembered for his honest and innocent acceptance of life and its many challenges. Cody was blessed with the ability to create happiness with his easy going personality and always ready smile. It was a smile and humor that lighted the darkest room and warmed so many hearts. Throughout Cody's life he enjoyed many outdoor activities including skateboarding, running and playing any sport in the community. Cody enjoyed vacationing with family and friends in Emerald Isle North Carolina and mountain vacationing in Boone and Sugar Grove North Carolina which were two of his favorite traditions. He loved a good backyard cook out and spending quality time with family and many, many friends. He loved all without condition. Cody's athletic gifts go without question; he excelled in all activities he undertook, always coming out a star. He was a star in so many ways especially in his family's eyes. Cody was an accomplished soccer and track and field athlete, winning a Maryland state title in the 300m hurdles this past May. He was honored as Runner of the Year in June for his accomplishments on the track and field. He loved all sports and had played most at one time throughout his 18 years. Cody is survived by his loving mother and father, Libby and Glen Richardson, sister Cara Richardson and brother Wesley Richardson. Cody is also survived by his Grandmother Mary E. Jones of Aberdeen; Grandfather Carl Richardson; Grandmother Phyllis Richardson of Aberdeen and Great Grandmothers Hermine Slind-Butcher of Youngstown, Ohio, and Molly Richardson of Aberdeen, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Cody is preceded in death by his Grandmother Linda Edwards, Grandfather Albert S. Jones Jr. and Great Grandfathers Breece Richardson and Kenneth Slind. The heavens are smiling as our beloved Cody soars because Cody is one of the most innocent, loving souls ever known. Bless him and his family; he will be missed every breathing moment. Cody touched so many lives and he made us all better people for it. Share his Amazing Grace! Contributions can be made in Cody's memory to: Johns Hopkins Childrens Center (410)955-5000 600 North Wolfe St Baltimore, MD 21287 or Perryville High School Sports Boosters (410)378-2244 1696 Perryville Rd.
